Good luck. If you have any problems, getting a tech out to your house is an act of congress.
This shite is legit

And God forbid you have any sort of problem. They will schedule a tech to come out sometime within the next 7 days. That tech will be late. When he does show up he will spend the next 4 hours driving up and down your driveway and your road. After that 4 hours of acting busy he will declare the problem fixed and leave. You will then find that the problem was not fixed and you will call them again. They schedule another tech. That tech gets the appointment double booked and had to change it for tomorrow. He shows up on time to spend another 5 hours doing the same thing the other tech did just to declare the problem fixed. But, the problem still persisted. You will call again for a third tech to come out 4 days later. Prior to the tech coming out, you will discover the cause of the problem yourself. The tech will show up and you will tell him the problem and what you think is causing it. He will ignore you and commence to spending another 5 hours doing the same shite that the first two techs did only to declare the problem fixed and leave.
The problem won't be fixed, but you will know kind of how to fix it and you will fix it by basically putting a bandaid on it. That bandaid fix will last 3 or 4 months until the problem starts back and you have to call the useless frickers again.

We also switched after the flood. The only problem is the area of Baton Rouge we live in is a little pocket of horrible signal from Verizon. Not sure if ATT is better or not. We have wifi at home but occasionally issues do pop up.

You could also have AT&T cell service in addition to your TV and internet service, but in your significant other's name. You could decide to use one of your upgrades to get a new cell phone. The poor, useless sales girl at the AT&T store will sell you a phone. She will also manage to find a way to somehow make changes to your internet and tv account that is in your significant other's name. Those changes will raise your bill by over $100. When you see your bill, you will contact AT&T. The first two people you talk to will speak english about as well as your dog. The third person you will understand, but they won't be able to help you. All will tell you they have no idea what you are talking about. You will finally end up talking to a guy named Randy in Colorado who will tell you what that girl did should have been impossible. You and Randy will spend the next hour trying to fix the useless sales girl's frick up. Three hours later, you will somewhat have resolved the issue and have a little better deal on your service.

A couple years after that, you may decide to use another upgrade for a different phone. You may go to another AT&T store and talk to another useless salesman who will tell you that you can buy this phone and get another of the same phone free. The salesman may be nice and he may sound knowledgeable. You will believe you have gotten a good deal on two new phones when all you wanted was one. That deal will seem great. Until you get a bill for the second phone. You will call multiple times over several months. You may finally be told that, in fact, those phones were not buy one get one free, and you will have to pay for the phone you didn't even want. They may imply that you are a liar and you didn't buy the phones from an AT&T store.
You may wish death upon any and everyone affiliated with that piece of shite, no good, sorry arse, useless fricking company.

In time though, AT&T's bureaucratic mega-corporate dysfunction will destroy all of these things. Imagine an internet/communications company having a website that doesn't work half of the time.
I don't think AT&T wants to suck, I think they can't help it because they're so huge and unwieldy (contrast that with something like American Airlines, where I think the business leaders get up everyday and think "how can I frick over our customers today")
I'm not sure. Having had to deal with AT&T for both home and business for years in many different formats, I imagine a corporate strategy that intentionally downsizes higher paid employees that could actually improve performance or service to increasingly focus on call center protocols that simply try to snake a bit of extra money with the idea that enough people will be too lazy to change service.

I hate them with every fiber of my being. It is always something with these people.
Enough is enough and I am switching to Verizon which I am sure has it’s own issues. But it’s a matter of principle now. I fricking hate them.
Literally just change bills at will and can’t give you a real explanation as to why. shite service.
T-mobile is worse, I bet. I live in the city, and there are random dead spots everywhere, I mean, WTF? I have Spectrum for internet here; it's fine now, but it could GTS at any time, from what I hear.

Been a Verizon customer. Service works but man, you gonna pay a premium. They high on everything.
I think unlimited after fees we’re like $190.00 just for service.
The $20/line fee just burns me up. That’s $40.00 for nothing. Just having a phone enabled with service.

ACH service for AT&T keeps charging my card and Regions Bank says there's no way to stop pay on an ACH
It took me over a year and hours on the phone to get them to stop trying to charge me after I moved from Houston to NOLA. The entire thing became so ridiculous I started to think I was on some reality show at one point.
I would speak to multiple people every month about how I closed out my account and shouldn’t still be being billed. They would apologize, say the error had been corrected, then rebill me double the following month. At one point I was turned over to collections for a fricking 1K cable bill.

Exactly why I left. Been with Verizon for years now. Love it

I dumped AT&T about 3 years ago for Verizon. My bills have been consistent, and consistently lower.

AT&T sold my brother on fiber, then when the installer came out he said fiber wasn’t available in his neighborhood
Posted on 5/4/20 at 6:12 pm to LSUGrad9295
I switched from them to Cox a few weeks ago because I lived in the only neighborhood in Wichita without high speed internet and was still getting charged like I had it despite me asking them repeatedly to fix my bill.

Three times I've had techs text me saying that they were double booked and couldn't make it to my house. The stinger is that they told me I'd have to schedule again through their customer support.

People in Louisiana still have AT&T? They got a ton of insurance money to raise their substations after Katrina and Gustav but did not. Had massive failure during the flood where people couldn't call out for help and couldn't check on loved ones.
Its mind boggling.

Their uverse service is great, but they've been trying to force TV users to DirecTV after they bought it. Internet should be fine though. The 1GB fiber is legit. Only thing better is Google fiber IMO.
I despise the AT&T website and app though. I'm legitimately considering leaving solely because of their shitty web and app experience. Nothing is simple, clicking certain links brings you back to the sign in screen which then brings you to the main menu upon signing in. It's absurdly annoying, and I want to rage everytime I use it. Paying your bill is super easy though, of course.

I love these AT&T vs. Cox vs. Comcast vs. Charter.
First off, I live in South Lafourche, if you know the area there is only one company that offers landline phone service and wired internet and cable services.
That is Vision Communications. It is probably the worst company when it comes to offering higher internet speeds and more channels to its customers at a competitive price point. It is owned by Eatel who is now owned by RTC.
On the residential side, the highest speed internet they offer is 100/3 Mbps service at 95 dollars a month. The lowest internet package they have is a 10/.5 Mbps service for 50 per month.
In their defense, they do offer some competitive packages for business customers. Especially in Fourchon and in the Houma Thibodaux area. They are starting to lay fiber the home cabling. Luckily, my neighborhood has it but no increase in the amount of speed offered.
