Typical. Seems like it wasnt a hit and run. Was just saying this happened to me and to some other friends of mine. Dudes in BR driving recklessly, but arent insured.

Something like 1 out of every 4 drivers in BR does not have auto insurance. It’s staggering to think about. When I left BR dashboard cams weren’t really what they are now. I certainly would invest in one now if I still lived there.

I nominate Carson for poster of the year…. Honorable mention to LouisianaLady.

A good deed was done by both of you looking for that dog. Unfortunately it wasn’t the outcome anybody hoped for.

To the OP…. Sorry for your loss. Hope you and your friend’s injuries heal soon.

Not every story is a happy ending like in the movies but this guy and gal deserve some kind of medal or something.
Yeah losing a dog is tough sorry OP.

I’m so sorry about your pup and I hope speedy recoveries to you and your friend.

Carson and LL, you guys are amazing. Nice to see every time something bad happens that the people on here are mostly good and step up.

We're all saddened at the tragedy of Brody, but I'd like to mention what the wife insists we use when transporting dogs.
And that's a harness that buckles to the seat buckle latch.
Not saying that this would have saved him in this case due to how bad the vehicle was hit.
Anyway, just a PSA

Damn you're a really good person. Props to you.

Sorry about your dog OP. A dog so young. Got to be the worst thing in the world.

This is the saddest thread I've ever read here---I am so, so very sorry for your loss of beautiful Brody. Thank you to the posters who helped find him. This is just tragic.

Such a tough read, especially with my eyes tearing up

Prayers sent up for Marlboro & his friend who will likely have a long road to recovery. To Carson and LL, y’all are the best and your selfless actions truly exemplify your character. Would love to treat both of you to lunch one day and say THANKS for being you

Definitely made my heart sink… driven that stretch a thousand times; you really have to be careless to hit someone there. Not a dangerous road at all.

So sorry for the loss of your pup.. it breaks my heart that he didn’t stay put so he could have been taken to an emergency vet.

My goodness, just seeing all of this and I just wanted to send my condolences. I hope you and your friend are on the mend, and I'm so very sorry about your sweet puppy. Dogs are the embodiment of love on earth, and we are so lucky to have them.

And to the OT, thanks for being you! You never hesitate to help a friend in need, and aside from the sometimes crude jokes, you often restore my faith in humanity.

I am crying like a baby. As is my assistant.

My deepest and most sincere sympathies to you and a tip of the hat to the fine and compassionate OTers who assisted you. My faith in humanity and decency is restored. God bless all of you. People like you are the only reason I get out of bed in the morning.

Just wanted to give a shoutout to Sherwood South (the vet clinic where I took Brody's body). They were very quick and responsive, they answered the phone very quickly, they appreciated the uniqueness of the situation, and the girl that helped (Taylor) was very kind and sympathetic. Glad to have dealt with them

Sport, if I’ve ever offended you, I apologize.

Thanks to you and (probably) to the folks who raised you.

Yea I was talking to LL on my way home and said the same thing regarding the car wreck and possible dog getting hit. It's such a desolate road at night where you pretty much have to try and hit something or the most unlucky situation ever to happen.

I drove through the area on my way home and it was a ghosttown. Carson had already left.

Carson really came through and props to him again. Beers on us
