I was cardioverted a while back and they used that stuff to "relax" me.
I remember going in stuck in AFIB with a BPM of 160. They put me in a bed, hooked up the lines and then they injected that stuff into my IV. Took a couple of seconds to hit, but when it did, I was instantly drunk. The nurse said she would be back in about 15 minutes and they would get started.
Well I laid there waiting for them to come back. I watched the heart monitor next to me and I saw my rate slowly come back down to normal. A little after it returned to normal, the nurse showed up and asked me how I felt.
I told her much better and that whatever they gave me lowered my rate and I didn't need to be shocked back into rhythm. She laughed and told me "They all say that, look at your chest."
There was a visible ring where the pad on my chest used to be for the cardiovert machine. She told me they lit me up a few times before my heart returned to a normal BPM. I swore I was awake the entire time and that no one had come by for at least 30 minutes.
Weirdest feeling ever. She told me it has a hypnotic effect and you just forget what happened. I was told that I talked to them and looked at them as they zapped me back to normal rhythm. I don't remember any of that happening. As far as my memory was concerned, all I did was watch the rate drop on the monitor.

I had mine a couple of years ago (no polyps, good for another couple hundred thousand miles). When they injected it, they told me to count backwards from one hundred. I only had enough time to say "that ain't happening" before what I can only describe as "a wall of sleep" slammed into me like a giant wave. I could feel it coming and knew there was no stopping it.
Apparently I was fricking hilarious when I came out of it. When the nurse brought my wife (no pics) in and said "someone is here to see you" my response was to look flatly at both of them and say "doctor, I've never seen that woman before".
It seems I'm allergic to Propofol. Not long after I went under I broke out in heat rashes so they had to give my Benadryl.
Also, when they woke me up all I wanted to do was go back to sleep. Thirty minutes later it was like I was a kid who had gotten a full night's sleep.

I've had it twice and never thought I had a buzz when I came to. Honestly, once I awoke, I almost immediately felt normal.
The dude did get a quick laugh when I said "Give me my milk" in a Michael Jackson voice

that was my experience, probably a sign of a good anesthesiologist

Veteran of 5 colonoscopies here. Each time waking up is a totally wild experience. I don’t like this part though

saw this part and thought surely the OP is mistaken ... but nope, that's right it's NOT on the list

Same. I've read the most common people say is "have you started?" when they come out of it.
I remember saying "are you done?" I had just sort of a pleasant feeling, but not really any sort of buzz or high at all.

copy that, just wondering why we're ordered not to forget it
If you think about it hes pretty good proof that money does not make you happy it just makes stuff a lot easier.

I took the pills
My colonoscopy was scheduled for 0700
I took 12 pills at 6 o’clock the afternoon before and the other 12 at 2am, I didn’t sleep all night. shite my brains out
I took the 6pm pills and they kicked in about 8:30. Spent about hour and a half on the toilet then went to bed. Woke up at 2am and took the second set. Napped on the couch until they kicked in. Was done about 4am and went back to sleep.

the anesthesiologist came in the prep area before the procedure to introduce himself and explain what he was going to do and was wearing an LSU scrub cap, when we were in the OR, or whatever they call the room, he said "your wife said you played baseball at LSU, what years?" I think I got my mouth open to answer and the next thing I remember was the doc telling me everything looked great, I'll see you in 10 years

You think you just closed your eyes for a second and have no idea it even happened. And for a colonoscopy that's exactly how I want it.
Posted on 8/7/23 at 11:18 am to Yewkindewit
The prep was brutal. I was peeing out of both my arse and my dick when I had finished the prep solution

It felt like I was reborn. When I woke up I felt high as a kite and couldn’t stop laughing because of how good it felt. No wonder why so many celebrities use this drug recreationally. I’m surprised how it hasn’t been added to the controlled substance list. The high it gives you when you wake up is just as strong as an opioid, if not stronger. You feel like gravity is weighing down on you by a million pounds. Highly recommend over twilight sedation
I had surgery a few weeks ago and woke up fighting the nurses. I don’t think I had the same high you did.

That 1 second between when you go under and when you wake up isn’t really a second at all. It feels like an eternity of time. It’s the weirdest and most unbelievable experience one could have.
