I never understand why anyone would want to perform colonoscopies for a living. Seems like that would be the worst having to do that every day.

BC the Dr's charge the frick out of the insurance companies.....mine was 100% covered, I didnt have to come out of pocket one cent...not even a co-pay...just like an annual well exam, and 2 teeth cleanings a year......no co-pays for any of that

Now granted, I dont have to have another colonoscopy for another 10 years, but think about it....the age used to be 50 and now it's 45.

Those million dollar houses, yachts and vacations arent going to pay for themselves.

Lower the age and more people will need the butt scope

Not sure if that is what they gave me my last double dip but every other time I was OK to drive home after. This time I have no memory from watching them inject me in the hospital till about 6 hours later and it took 8 - 24 hours to get back to normal.

My first meal after tasted like the best food I ever put in my mouth but if the "date rape" drug is similar I understand it now.

same here, the floor nurse put the IV needle in my arm and the anesthesiologist connected the tubing with the Propofol. There were only 3 people in the treatment room with me, the Dr, his assistant(I assume she was a nurse) and the anesthesiologist

This is almost certainly wrong. The anesthesiologists supervise typically 4 rooms, while the CRNA’s actually intubate, administer the drugs, and monitor during the case.

There should have been the GI doc, a CRNA, a tech (assisting the MD), and an RN, if the room was staffed appropriately.

The anesthesiologist would only come to the room if the shite hit the fan.

Propofol brought me closer to my fantasy of Stevie Nicks than I have ever been before. I'm still pissed they didn't allow me to finish my fantasy dream before waking me up.

There was only one colonoscopy going one at a time.....everyone else waiting in the prep room divided by curtains. The anesthesiologist was going in with every patient one by one, one at at time

Believe it or not but I was actually there....there wasnt 4 rooms....there was one room, and like I said the only people in the room was myself, the DR, the anesthesiologist and an assistant, there may have been a nurse but I only remember 3 other people...

Here is my dr's address and phone number if you'd like to call them and tell them they are doing it wrong....

Sounds like a good high but not worth getting a foreign object shoved up my arse. I will continue to refuse to have a colonoscopy.

Just had my first colonoscopy this morning. The clear diet the day before wasn't too bad-thought I'd be hungrier. The 2 bottle prep-not bad either. The procedure went smooth too. To all those out there worrying at least to me it was pretty easy and stress-free.

“I never understand why anyone would want to perform colonoscopies for a living”

Beats the hell out of being a gynecologist, that’s the one I can’t understand.Old fat women with stinky coochies, pus drizzling out of some of them, venereal warts, some really ugly stuff.

Get home and the wife wants some romancing and I’d still be seeing that nasty stuff.
