What you’re dealing with is a historical anomaly.

For as long as humans have been humans, women stayed close to home, and we lived with our extended families. There were always plenty of people to help with childcare. Older children would often raise their siblings.

Takin cara babies infant class (it’s a pdf). Swaddle, white noise, blck room. Get in a nap schedule based on appropriate wake times according to age. Feed enough during the day so they can sleep at night longer. Gas drops/ probiotic drops and gripe water. You’re welcome.

Try having twins at age 42. It’s all good baw, it teaches you that life isn’t all about you. Good luck!

Eta: It’s actually easier when they are newborns. Wait til your kid starts crawling….that’s when the fun starts!

Bro just get through it how you can. The first time he smiles at you and you see a personality behind his eyes and you forget all of this. It’s like a very primal coping mechanism

I'm convinced Mao's one child policy was because he got stuck sitting with an infant.

Thats the easy phase.

Worst case scenario, you walk outside, have a stiff drink and calm down while the baby screams their head off.

Wait until the midgets are able to follow you and every door/drawer has a lock on it because they can climb/open everything.

Not to discourage, but the challenges dont get better, they are of a different variety.

The newborn stuff is NOTHING compared to an 8yo girl and 6yo boy who bicker and fight constantly.

My kids were always hungry. They cried at night until they got cereal in the formula...game changer.

I also have only one by choice when the original plan was more. Don't read the internet, trust your God given instincts.

Newborn is pretty easy compared to teenagers.

I don't know, maybe I just tolerated shite better back in those days.

This too shall pass. I raised my daughter completely alone as her father died while I was pregnant and my parents passed away when I was in my 20’s. It’ll get better.

Maybe check with the pediatrician re: reflux as someone mentioned?

Worth a try. Other than that wait it out and know you’ll eventually sleep again. Our youngest is almost 21. I promise time flies.

Just wait til 4 month sleep regression.

Just when you think you got into a good routine… boom pattern changes.

Then teething

Then hand foot mouth

Then day care closes two weeks for Covid

Then growth spurt

Then teething

And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon…

It really gets much easier after they start sleeping through the night (10 - 15 weeks depending on the kid). That completely changed my experience, at least. Those first 4 - 6 weeks are fricking awful.

You can start planning nights out again, trips, recreational activities, all that good stuff, once their sleep schedule is more predictable.

Mrs. Boosie is 14 weeks with our second so our first will be just over two when he is born.

Just space them out and it should work out. Our plan is the most energetic parent will take the oldest and the one who needs a break will take the stationary newborn.

We also have both grandmas within 10 minutes so that helps but I just keep telling myself that less capable people than my wife and I have done it so it’s possible.

But just coffee and grind it out right now. You’ll never remember how tired you are right now. Life with a little one becomes too fast for that level of reminiscing

You are perfectly normal.

I have 4 kids. Kid 1 was absolutely perfect. slept all the frickin time. blah blah. Kid 2 came and MFer cried all the fricking time especially right when we'd fall asleep.

We had twins 22 months after our first son. I could sleep through anything in those days and my wife didn't work then. She still hates me for that.
