Try the following:
"If I hear it's for a murder trial, I automatically think he/she is guilty and refuse to change my mind"
"(insert family member name here) works for the defendant and if I convict, they'll lose their job"
"I love murder"
"I love the death penalty, it's the best penalty"
"I'm a violent offender"
Be creative

32
Been called 3 times.
First was on college. Was exempt.
Second I went. Was dismissed.
Third I just claimed exemption because I "had a child that would be left without care". I do actually have a kid but there's no way they actually check. It costs too much to do that.
I'm really not about dealing with 290 traffic just to go downtown to be dismissed.

Dicking with a judge is always the smart play.

Lived in NOLA for 25 years and was called once, and that was for Federal Court.
Lived in Ascension for 6.5 years, and called 3 times.

I had it twice in Louisiana.
One time it was a capital murder case which after day 1/2 day of answering written questions I guess they didn't choose me.
That lasted 1/2 of day of my time.
Second one was a civil case total time 1-1/4 days of my time.
I got picked one day.
Showed up the next day and the case was settled before trial.

I always had someone at the courthouse take care of mine so I didn't have to go. Last year decided I would just show up and do the thing and was selected for a 2 week BS civil case.

How do you know which parish you'll get called for duty? Is it the one listed for voting or on your drivers license?
It's by voter registration.
Jury duty and the knowledge of how completely screwed up state and Federal politics are makes it really easy for me to remain unregistered. So no jury duty ever for me and I am 52 next month (voted Reagan 1st term, never again when he went War on American Citizens/Drug War). Not gonna vote the lesser of 2 weasels ever again, not gonna serve jury duty since not gonna register. Just Say No to bullshite politics kids.

I'm 32 and haven't had it once. White privilege?

Looking at the jury pool I can assure you there is no white privilege here. Of course, this is St. Tammany...

Oh, at that point you're not necessarily dealing with a judge...hopefully

Got called once and went down there for a briefing, kept up weekly but thankfully my panel never had to report

And driver's license. At least it is in Jefferson Parish.
Never been registered to vote and still had to go sit in Gretna for a day without even being called out in one of the three groups. Then got released into rush hour traffic.

That's where I'm registered. I'm guessing they have an endless supply of bored old people and housewives to fill most of the spots.
Will they skip someone because of an arrest record?

I went last week in EBR. Was assigned to a civil trial (auto accident). Ended up up being dismissed by one of the parties after the voir dire.

If you're not registered to vote you won't ever get summoned. Is this correct still?
