I have come across the smartest and most stupid scam of all time

My friend sent me this live stream with no context of this french dude who literally just sits around and clicks his mouse all day with a website open that counts his clicks.
Everyone in the chat is freaking out because he is about to reach his goal of 999,999,999,999,999 clicks. But the twist is that people watching the stream can donate awards (money) to remove clicks from the tally. It’s like $0.25 to remove one click, $1 to remove 100, and $300 to reset. So this guys constantly removing clicks and racking up cash.
I watch this stream for 15 minutes because i’m very intrigued to see if it works, and I sure enough, some dumbass donates a $300 award to make him reset. The guy acts really pissed, slams his desk repeatedly and turns off the stream.
He can click very fast. I’d say 250 clicks per minute, but at that rate it would take 7.6 million years to reach his goal. What’s happening here is this guy starts it off at like 999,999,999,990,000 clicks and people give him money until someone gives him the big one and he has to reset. And then does it all over again the next day while racking up a ton of cash.
He cleared at least a total of $5k from hundreds of different people in the fifteen minutes I watched.
A. How are people this dumb? Some simple math would make people realize it’s a scam
B. Even if it was real and he started at $0 somehow, why in the world do people think he would be pissed about getting money? He set up the donations for that exact reason.
Gotta give this guy credit though. Incredibly creative way to take advantage of people’s stupidity.

I’ve seen that on tiktok, there’s dozens of streams just like that and it’s insane how much people donate

In what ways it’s a scam?
Donating money results in what is advertised, including with a comical response, which is exactly what the trolls willing to donate 300 wanted, which is entertainment.
It’s a stupid use of money but idk about it being a scam.
next you are gonna tell me movies are a scam because Tom cruise didn’t really fly that jet or because dinosaurs are extinct.

He should add an option to pay to increase clicks also. Get people bidding against each other.
