Can't think of a better peninsula to try to get to. Everyone else can fight over Montana all they want.

Yeah, ole "Lucky" Larry Silverstein was going to have to come up with one BILLION dollars to clear out all the asbestos in the Twin Towers.

Wait a minute. I thought the whole thing was done because there were some super-secret files hidden in building 7 that someone wanted destroyed.

He probably believes Lucky Larry was also the first building owner (he wasn't the owner but whatever) to get terrorism insurance too

Instead, they got "knocked down" and he collected 4 BILLION dollars from the insurance.

Just "lucky" I guess.

So 'lucky' that just months after paying 3.25 billion to take the over the lease he had 13.4 million sq ft of office space destroyed in a matter of hours, still had to pay 102 million a year in rent while collecting nothing, and had to fight the insurance companies in court.

The new complex, with less square footage of office space, has so far cost over 20 billion to rebuild. He really got lucky didn't he...

What kind of moron pays $3.2 billion to lease a complex that needs another billion to extract the asbestos from it?

Answer: The kind that just over a month after signing the lease experiences an "event" that nets him $5.8 billion in insurance (4.6 from the "terrorist" attack, and 1.2 from American and United Airlines).

BTW, Silverstein only put up about $14 million of his own money in the original lease deal.

Not only that, another $20 billion of public and private investments were collected to rebuild the complex. Silverstein, his partners and the Port Authority owe about $3.3 billion of debt, held in the form of tax-exempt Liberty Bonds due in 2100, on the properties.

ETA: He's one happy guy...

And the BBC reporting it's collapse 20 minutes before it collapsed

Yes, just look at the devastating damage done to WTC7 after the Twin Towers collapsed. How in the world did that building stand for as long as it did?

well that’s pretty easy to understand. In the chaos of that day, other towers have already fallen, that tower had been burning for over 40 minutes already. He just said it had collapsed before it did. You could call it an estimated guess even if you want. But in reality he just made a mistake in a very tense situation

No, but what I do know is that this SOB made billions off the murder of American citizens and as the photo indicates, he couldn't be happier.

well that’s pretty easy to understand.
Yes, reporting on national television an event that's never happened in the history of man before that day, is a common error. Happens all the time.
