He doesn’t have an education beyond high school, but he thinks he does great research and knows things no one else knows.

Unsurprisingly, he’s really big on cryptocurrency, thinks 9-11-2001 was all a conspiracy covered up by the U.S. government, says ivermectin will “clean” COVID vaccines out of your blood, thinks all artificial sweeteners will make you gain weight and give you dementia, and thinks his Donald Trump memorabilia coins/mementos can be traded in at banks for lots of money.

Probably the worst one is that he thinks the Nile River in the Bible is actually the Mississippi River. Absolutely nothing in the Bible would make any sense if that was true.

It’s quite ironic how people who think they’re outsmarting everyone else are actually gullible, easily-manipulated fools most of the time.

Unfortunately, "I've done my research" no longer means "I dug through available primary and secondary sources until I was able to form an educated opinion on the subject" and instead means "I've listened to someone who says things that sound truthy to me, and I believe them".

In the end, we all craft our own reality.

It's an epidemic and the dumbing of America. There isn't a rabbit hole you can't go down.

To be fair, that is not incredibly different from a lot of research media pundits do now. If you ever want to distrust the media, find multiple articles on something you have a lot of knowledge on. It is rare that those articles will be even 50% correct.

In short, you do not hate the media enough.

Thank you for putting research in quotes because we all know that isn't research. That is just listening to other people that say things you believe or agree with. None of what they are spewing is research either.

Lotta weird shite out in the ethos that helps point to that. Is it true,doubtful.. but there some things that don’t add up.

Interesting. Definitely haven’t heard that one.

Well yeah, artificial sweeteners are chemicals meant to imitate sugar. They’re not good for you and yes they can trigger insulin resistance leading to weight gain and dementia wouldn’t be a stretch depending on what kind of process that sweetener went through.

If the coins are in fact gold coins then that’s not exactly crazy.

You just described a lot of this site.

Most people here don’t even click the links or even read the quotes. All that matters is the title of the thread.

1 out of 5 posters can and will turn a banal story into something political or left/right.

Don’t even get me started on people who over generalize, make up statistics, and think that they are being funny when they are not.

Just curious, do you know of any banks that actively trade gold in their lobbies?

I think I've seen that one. Apparently the fertile crescent is actually the Gulf of Mexico. Because it's actually crescent-shaped and fertile; not barren desert. Enjoyable theory but obviously ridiculous.

I mean there’s definitely better places to sell gold but I bet if you looked hard enough you could find a small regional bank that would. I buy gold and silver from an exchange and hold on to it. So I’ve never really sought out a place to actually sell or exchange.
