FYI…with Life360 people can change their location and appear somewhere they aren’t.

One of my kids was “safe at friends house and going to bed soon” when my wife and I left our friends house and we just happened to pass her car a little down the street. She was beyond scared when I knocked on the door to their little party. Life 360 said she was on the other side of town at her friends house.

We joke about it now how shitty her luck was. The road is outside the city in the hills and has about 3 houses on the long road.

Also…don’t always trust the speed. My wife asked me one time why I was doing 120 between Houston and Baytown. Besides the fact that GMC HDs cut off at 99, theres zero chance of going that fast with 5pm traffic.

They know this in sixth grade or earlier, youtube videos all over the place. But "peace of mind!"

288? Tell me where, I may make a run to see how fast I can pull up behind someone doing 62 in the passing lane.

That’s fricking outrageous and I’d be legit pissed if my wife drove like that.
Set cruise at 78mph on the interstate, no reason to go any faster. If assholes come right up to your back bumper, get out of their way or let them pass you.

If you’ve ever driven that stretch, she was probably just cruising with traffic. Go rub some vagasil on it

At that speed, there’s no room for error.

We don’t have it but a guy I know was able to assist law enforcement finding his wife when she had a run off the road incident in the middle of nowhere stretch of country road. She ran off the road into a swampy stretch. If she didn’t have that app (or something similar) it would have taken forever to find her. She apparently had a heart attack that caused it. She was deceased when they found her.

I don’t know how it works but because (as I was told) she didn’t have an impact it didn’t alert to a crash? I guess it knows when an impact occurs?

Crazy stuff.

My wife calls me on the way home and tells me that I had 121 unsafe incidents due to speed.

She asked me why were you going 85 in a 70? I said how did you know? She said your daughter‘s cell phone has an app on it that tells me how fast she’s going when she’s with her phone.

Caught

I don’t know if you picked up on her message. She’s better than you.

And it’s going to come up again.

I love having Life360 on my phone. I don't really care if my wife knows where I'm at or not. But I worked all over South Louisiana and at least now I don't have to deal with 15 phone calls through the day asking me where I'm at and if I'm on my way home or not

There’s no way Im putting a tracker on my phone for my family. That’s a bit extreme

I'm a father of 4 and found myself raising them by myself. I work construction and as a result I was out of the house by 5am and didn't usually get home until well after 6pm. Life360 was essential in making sure all my children were where they were supposed to be and when they were supposed to be there.

frick that. I couldn't imagine not having 360 on my wifes phone. Very useful. Her parents live more than an hour away so at times that she goes and I can't for whatever reason Life360 gives me that peace of mind knowing where she and my three kids are, they're ok, etc.

only time my wife yelled at me to slow down was when we were driving in the salt flats in Utah and there was no one fkin around and the wife was sleeping. Took one last look and went to 140. the top was down so the noise went up and she woke how and yelled slow the frick down.

I had Life360 for me and the kids and a couple years ago husband asked to be added to it.

He loves asking me to pick up something from whatever store I’m at.

You shouldn't be in the passing lane anyway. Unless you're passing.

Did you thoroughly explain to her that the Salt Flats are all about speed?

Interesting.

I was unaware times and our surroundings are exactly the same now as they were when I grew up.

Thank you. Think I'll bring the family to Howell Park this evening for a picnic!

to each their own, but it's been a fine fixture in our family. the only privacy between my wife and i is when we're on the toilet.

the only time it ever caused drama was that I was pulled over for a part at a Home Depot and my location showed me at the Hooters in front of it when I was coming in from out of town. she called and i left my phone in the car and it looked like i was at the hooters

My freshman at college is a caller not a texter, and sometimes he'll look up my location and see i'm driving and call because all he's doing is interrupting a podcast.

ETA: we just share each other's location through iMessage. Not all that live360 crap

Its good for minors and their parents, possibly spouses, thats it.
My MIL wanted to put Apple air tags in my kids shoes so “we” (she) can see where they are if they’re missing. Decent idea, and she loves my kids and means well, but no chance I’m letting her see where they are at all times.

My wife would have called and complimented me for only doing 85 in a 70.

I let my wife see my location, but it took a while for me to get comfortable with it. I have nothing to hide, just feels fricking weird.

However, now she doesn't have to text me if I'm still at the office 3 times every damn afternoon

I can see her location too and have done it maybe 3 times in 2 years? Just when she's on road trips herself and I want to see if she's approaching bad weather I noticed on the radar.
