They full size Bronco is OK stock

I like The smaller Bronco too, reminds my of the mid 2000s Escapes before they made the escape a minivan.

Ford really screwed up the launch.

A lot of interested people can't get their hands on one because of chip shortages and Ford's foolish parts sourcing strategies. The people who actually got one are reporting a lot of issues with the Ford accessories, the hard tops, engine, transmission, etc. They have a lot of issues that Ford will take a while to work through.

If you want an off road rig and can't wait a few years....just go get a Jeep Wrangler or one of the off road themed pickups like the ZR2 Chevy or TRD Pro Tacoma. You'll pay less, have a much wider variety of aftermarket accessories and better aftermarket support. You'll end up with a vehicle that's much more sorted, much more reliable, and much easier to modify.

Give Ford 3-4 more years to fully bake the new Bronco.

You want an F150 based SUV? Let me introduce you to the Expedition.

The old full size Bronco was never going to happen. It made all the sense in the world to make a mid size Wrangler competitor.

I tried and tried to get a new bronco but the combination of delays, parts shortages and bad reviews (especially the eco boost which I have had a short but painful relationship with) turned me off

got a gladiator instead and I love it. Best combo of cargo and fun factor that I’ve ever had.

I do have a 1980 bronco in my barn that needs body work and finishing if anyone happens to know someone in LA that does that sort of thing. I don’t have the motivation to do it

There are actually a lot of people that didn't like the F-150 based Bronco which went from 78-96. Many preferred the smaller 66-77 range as a more versatile 4x4 off road than a short truck. There are enough SUVs today, Ford was wise to bring back the old style Bronco.

5.0 with some growl is the only answer.

The new little Broncos are 172" long. They are smaller than a CR-V or Escape. It looks more like a competitor for the Chevy Trailblazer Activ (the new one), Jeep Renegade, and Subaru Crosstrek.

I think it's targeting teenaged female drivers.

I think they were very creative with the design. I like it.

But they royally fricked up the launch between all the parts shortages and major build quality issues. I would wait a while before I even tried to buy one. Or just get a Jeep instead.

F-100 I believe. At least, my 1980 is on an F-100 frame and all the parts match

They put the 2.7L Ecoboost in some of the models which has decent output for the weight. But they apparently built them with suboptimal parts and several engines have cratered after a couple thousand miles.

It was some defective valves in a limited number of Broncos. That Sam engine has been pushing F150s for a while now with no issues.

That being said, I hate V6 engines. I have a 2021 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost. It’s a beast, 400HP, 500lb. ft. Torque. I can’t explain why I don’t like it.
Wife has a Wagoneer with the 5.7 hemi. It’s slower but that V8 feel makes it seem stronger.

Yes they were. Mistakes aside, there was a market there for a competitor to the Wrangler which owned that market.

Idk what the hell GM is doing not bringing back the blazer when the off road segment is ripe like this. I think they botched their chance twice actually. They brought back the blazer as a soulless crossover. Ok fine whatever, the blazer morphed into a family SUV in the late 80s. They still had the chance to do the TrailBlazer right but they also made that a generic car based SUV.

The Bronco Sport is just a Ford Escape trying to look outdoorsy by wearing a Patagonia jacket

Because it doesn't sound like my F150 with the 5.0 We do also have an Edge with the 2.7Ecoboost, it's a lot of fun to drive and has been solid for over 135k miles.

I honestly dont think this is bad thing, it means these fords based off the escape all have interchangeable parts.

As long as you buy the full size one you get RWD.

The lower models are just Mazda escapes.
