Price. That's why. It takes longer, but it's much cheaper.

I had a similar issue last month. The package was going back and forth from Dallas to Baton Rouge and back to Dallas again over and over again. I called USPS. They investigated. Package was directed back to Baton Rouge and delivered in 2 days. Then, they called me to confirm delivery and apologized for the issue. I was pleasantly surprised they handled it promptly.

Why wouldn't you provide as many shipping options as you can for your customers?

seller probably does, but the mouth breathing OP is probably too stupid or cheap to select one.

Since you want to be a fricking a-hole for no reason, here's a screenshot of the business's shipping page. Now everyone can see how dumb you are.

It really does depend on area and time. Honestly, it switches for us about once a quarter.

FedEx botched a ton of deliveries around here over Christmas, stuff that was sitting in Atlanta for 4-5 days didn't make it in time. USPS was great for us a year ago, Priority Mail just dominated everything else, but since the Atlanta debacles it's now practically unusable and will shuttle back and forth between locations for a week despite being 15 miles form my house.

Next couple of days it was in Birmingham.

Packages seem to fall into a black hole in Birmingham for a couple of days. It has been my experience.

why don't you start your own business that requires shipping of the goods you sell and get back to us when you have some experience with the various shipping options and correlating costs?

So how long have you been an employee of the USPS?

so they tell you they only ship via USPS and to expect delays, but you still bitch about delays and lack of options?

Yes. Bitching about lack of options is the whole point of the thread, dummy. Not very smart are you.

I ship several hundred packages a day. Usps is not only easier and cheaper in most cases. Ground advantage has went up 6 times in 2 years and the yearly oct to Jan bump for holiday rates. Ups and fed ex continuously over charge after shipment for what they deem under measurements. Which is a crock of shite. We are talking a $15 shipping charge to $85. This is a scam racket they have been running for a couple of years now. Usps is slow and getting slower but still the cheapest.

I ship a lot of packages in my business and this is my experience as well.

Where you are matters a lot as all of them seem to have bigger issues in certain areas.

Even though they all have problems, as someone who has to answer customers complaining about shipping that's totally out my hands, I prefer USPS to the others.

Also, I offer these options for shipping based on my actual costs:

USPS media $5.25
USPS priority $9.50
FedEx $15.75

About 98% choose USPS media and a few USPS priority. Once or twice a year someone requests FED EX.
