I was just doing the math. If people who caught Covid 19 in April or May are now able to be reinfected with it, then that is a very short time frame of 2-3 months. If that’s the case, then we should probably get the vaccine every one or two months in order to be safe from it.

There are a couple of things you are missing outside of the concept of boosters.

1. The research is indicating the people with very mild cases have much shorter-lived immune responses. So it is possible a vaccine can imitate a large enough viral load to significantly increase the length of the immune response.

2. Even if we can not reach herd immunity due to the possible short immune response even with a vaccine it wouldn't be a huge inconvenience for all those at moderate to high risk to get a booster on a regular basis. Like the flu shot you would imagine it would be available at every CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and etc. Add to that many of the most vulnerable see doctors on a very regular basis and people in long term car homes have access to nurses on a constant basis.

The idea of no herd immunity is just nonsense to make us cower in fear of this and shut back down. Of course herd immunity works

There's a B and T cell memory effect that provides immunity.

I read the other day that a study was done and while the antibodies disappeared, the B cells kicked in when exposed a second time.

You are oversimplifying it. Herd immunity does obviously work but you have to keep X percentage of people immune in an area at a given time. The higher X is for a particular disease and the shorter the immune response is the harder it is to reach and keep herd immunity.

Many people are latching on to every tidbit from each new study but it takes a good while to get a full understanding of a novel disease.

Still on this herd immunity thing, huh???

How many people are in Louisiana????
4.7million

You need roughly 60 to 70% of the population to become infected.

Let’s say people gain long term immunity, which we are still unsure of.

Louisiana has a bit over 100,000 cases to date.

Let’s throw in 300,000 more cases just
because a ton of people have this virus,or had it who have never taken a test.

400,000 cases up to now...

We need more than TWO MILLION more cases.

It’s not happening.

Which two scenarios are more likely:
1) We reach herd immunity by October

2) there are enough "booster/vaccinations" available for multiple treatments (every other month or so) by October

Exactly.
Look at Taiwan, Japan etc.
Basically nothing.

Yes, they're healthy.

But, they're incredibly dense populations.

No way something not going on from SARS etc

Are you one of these little bitches that cries because after you run your mouth and someone gets in your face, you act like you can’t believe someone would do that?

It was reported today that 2500 people an hour are being infected.

We can't even get test results back in a timely fashion, yet they can tell us how many people are being infected by the hour? That's just taking daily positives and mathing it.

Also, I love how they can dead nuts these Covid numbers, but release flu death numbers this week at between 20,000 to 60,000. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

It isn't IMPOSSIBLE, it just takes more than a year for it to fully happen. At least half or even more of the population is already somewhat immune to it.

I don’t believe it either. There is a reason that only 20% caught it on The Diamond Princess.

The studies I've seen say that not only is immunity possible but that some people are already immune due to colds in the past. It is a novel virus but it is still a form of corona/cold virus.

Help is on the way... This company is lagging some of the other projects but the point is that there are some very promising technologies out there that can essentially nueter this virus even if it takes a year or two to fine tune it.
