I suggest people to look at some YouTubers that live their. There's on I watch name Lennitacanal she now lives in Mexico, but check out the videos before with her family in Cuba. Heartbreaking

I have a good friend who is Cuban and came to US at 17 years old. He is a hardworking conscientious God-fearing family man. He is now 40 and he loathes the Cuban communist regime. There is no freedom in Cuba. It is a wasteland economically and ultra authoritarian.

Don't know if it was the same in Louisiana but, after Castro took over, a lot of the engineers and workers from the sugar industry in Cuba came to the Glades. They helped build the Co-op sugar mill in Belle Glade that we belong to. They were indispensable when the sugar farming first got going.
