Period.
You want to wear sneakers, wear sneakers. I do not understand the trend to bastardize a sneaker bottom onto a casual dress shoe.

The weirdest is seeing people wear the sneaker bottom shoes with a suit

Another good one is the J&M Holden Plain toe. They have a few that are casual enough for jeans or pants.

I blame this on ESPN when they moved the on air talent from behind a desk to having them stand. And them hiring washed up mediocre ex-athletes to fill that role.

Not shoes but these low cut skecher boots are pretty versatile and are comfy as shite. I’ve been wearing the same pair for like 7 years and they’re still going strong.

Brown rough-out Tecovas.

I’m a fan of the Blundstone Active. They make them in several colors.

Those are the exact shoes I bought a few months ago online. When I got them they were MUCH lighter on the toe and upper than that picture shows. They are listed as tan and brown and trust me the tan is really light. They don’t make a brown/brown so I kept the shoes and stripped them down to bare leather and re-stained them brown//brown and now they are perfect.

Sole design is one difference. The other main difference is that top siders have quarter panels where the eyelets are, almost like a typical derby shoe. Camp Mocs just have a solid piece of leather over the vamp/instep.
ETA: essentially camp-mocs are designed more like loafers and top siders are designed more like derbys.

The gays took over boots bro. But I think children can still wear them.
What do both groups mentioned above have in common? They love wearing costumes.
Sorry you’re the last to hear. If you love wearing costumes, and you’re not a kid, you’re gay. Fact.
Why do you spend so much time thinking about wearing boots and sucking dick? Is this how your momma raised you to be? No. She would be ashamed.

It's tough to bridge jeans and khakis well with a single pair. However, just scanning Allen Edmonds I would recommend the Strandmoks below, and they are on sale.
LINK
Generally, I think you would be better off with some dark brown boots with jeans, something like Allen Edmonds Higgins Mill, Crockett and Jones Coniston, or some equivalent from Alden, Grant Stone, or wherever.
Then with khakis you could get a decent pair of derbies or oxfords slightly dressier than the Strandmoks above.
Example: Conistons in rough out leather for jeans
Example: Classic AE Strands in Walnut Brown with khakis

Cole Haan
Dawson Grand 360 Wing Tip Oxford Wp
Cole Haan Shoes
Do your self a favor and check these out. Probably find them on sale somewhere and may want to go into a store and try them on as Cole Hann sizes between shoe types are not always consistent.
Black or Tan depending on your taste. Comfortable enough for all day wear with cushioning. Also Waterproof which adds to function.
Only downside is that a shoe horn greatly helps getting them on. You can still do it without, but just easier.
I've had a pair for 5 years now specifically for weekend trips that involve some dressing up (khakis/suits) and some jeans so that I only have to take one pair of shoes.
