I had some financial management guy reach out to me about wanting to present me with all of the services his company offers. I told him I wasn't interested and he still messaged me once a week asking for a meeting.
I get hammered with recruiters. 2nd most is financial advisors far away from where i live.

I stay in incognito mode and use it to find contacts in the heavy industrial / plant industry
Other than that it’s all corporate losers and the occasional hot female sales rep wearing a short skirt on the golf course.

I may have just received my first fraud attempt message on LinkedIn today. It was from a LI member but did not show name.
It was similar to the phishing texts everyone gets saying your resume looks good for an open position we have but overall message very generic without title of position or background on company.

Check out Corporate Sween. He's hilarious, and is representative of everything we're kvetching about in this thread.

I'd say my experience is about 90% salesmen/ads and 10% legitimate people wanting to connect.

I deleted my account a couple of years ago. Don't miss it. Don't need it.
At that time, it was turning into Facebook-lite. I have no idea of what it is like today, but I imagine it's more of a social media platform than what it was originally intended to be.

Follow Ken Cheng. He’s the only reason I’m on it.

I’ve been retired 10 years and get daily messages to connect with others and I have appeared in many searches. It’s OOC….

Everyone is a Director or VP of some made up shite. It’s astounding.

Self-congratulatory virtue signalers with zero self awareness. The gay little balloons announcing the start of a new job. It will be hilarious when the site is hacked and all of my private messages I send to former coworkers making fun of these dbags are released.

I enjoy watching people destroy their careers by posting strongly opinionated political bullshite and viewpoints.
There was a West Texas truck nuts oilfield girl on there a few months ago slinging about sexual harassment accusations. I imagine her prospects in the Permian have all but dried up.

Anyone that posted dumb shite on my LinkedIn got the axe, so it was fine for a while. I now log in once every two months and add/subtract people while bored. The amount of recruiters are comical for the accounting industry, though a huge portion of the jobs are entry level manager. My favorites are the recruiting pitches for jobs 80+ miles away from my city for two to three levels below me, with a "competitive salary" of 50-60k less than I currently make. I want to respond and just ask why, but then I'll find myself on some weird assholes of LinkedIn article.
