I hope your wife can beat whatever challenge she is facing. If she is healthy enough, at least try and fulfill some of those dreams even if they need to be modified. If she can’t travel, try local luxuries…spa, days, concerts, fine dining, ball games…visit friends and family, read books together, reminisce about fun things you’ve shared.
Thank you for the kind words. We are taking an international trip in two days. We are going one of the places she always wanted to go. I'm planning another trip for the summer. We are going to "go" as long as we can. My wife's condition is supposed to be progressive but for now, she is capable.
In regard to her being healthy enough, my wife took good care of herself. She exercised for years and was doing crossfit up until a few months ago. The docs said her physical condition being so good is going to pay dividends as we go through this. She is starting out in a very good spot compared to other folks.
My wife is one of the kindest and nicest people you'd ever be lucky enough to meet. She really is. For this to happen to her is just a shame. That said, we are Christians and have faith. Hopefully we can witness a miracle.

Eitek
Glad you are taking advantage of the gap between diagnosis and disability, and hopefully you get that miracle.
PS: the motorcycle recovery remains one of my favorite OT stories ever!

I remember watching this scene as a child. It didn't make sense then but it sure does now.

I’ve always wanted a replica of either:
or
But I’d have to have FU money to ever actually purchase them.

Do it. I didn't get mine until I was 48 years old. Best thing I ever did for myself, SO much fun to drive. I got a 2018 GT 5.0 with a stick.
Yes, yes, the automatic is faster, but nothing beats rowing your own gears, and NOBODY looks in the side window and says OOOOOHHHH an automatic!

Always wanted:
1969 Camaro - Had an opportunity to get one. I drove one fully restored and after all of the wheeling and dealing it was still just an old car. The keys were the exact same as and the interior reminded me of my grandpas old truck that I used to haul parts in for him. So I passed up the opportunity. (Sidenote: I bought a brand ZR1 with Apple car play and about 900 horsepower.)
1958 Cadillac Coupe DeVille - still want
1957 Chevy Belaire Coupe - still want
1967 Chevy Chevelle SS - still want because my Dad had one and I’d love to give it to him.
1969 Dodge Charger - was getting one when I was 15 and my grandma was writing the check for it when my Mom stopped her. The next week Mom relented and my Aunt had already sold her car. Still want.
1977 Trans Am Screamin chicken. - only mildly want. Most of them are piles of rust.
1978 Corvette black/silver 25th Ann - mildly want. My Dad had one and it was awesome as a kid. In actuality, my wife’s SUV would smoke it.
1979 Ford F250 4x4 - kinda want. We had a ‘74 and sold it for a series of Chevy square bodies. I grew up driving a million square bodies and I have no interest in them.
1989 Chevy C1500 (with the 5.7) - had one and miss it every single day even though my side x side will run the quarter mile faster. It was just the oddness of the rounded exterior coupled with the squared interior.
2019 Corvette Stingray - was buying one in New Jersey and backed out because of the redesigned mid-engine version.
But at the end of the day, I wind up buying things I need rather than want. And if those are all my wants, I’m ok with never getting a single one.
I didn’t get into existential wants but I’m sure we all have plenty.

If any of yall are familiar with the comedian Pete Holmes, he has a great bit where he says ‘All i ever wanted when i was a kid was to grow up and have a racecar bed, and a wife with big boobs’..
Personally i had some big titty girlfriends, but the girl i married was pretty slim.. Everything in life is a tradeoff .

Had an experience where they had no interest in you and only fooled around with each other?

I drive an hour each way every day. Someone gave me feedback that the clutch is "heavy." I drive a stick now but it's a mazda so light as a feather.
What's your experience with yours?

I love cars with manual transmissions, and have owned a few in my lifetime.. Now i live in Asia, and im currently looking for my first car here.. turns out, most cars here are stick shift, and 100% of the trucks are.. ordinarily id be fine with it, but it seems a little daunting at my advanced age to learn how to shift with my left (non-dominant) hand *and* make sure to stay on the left hand side of the road…. Guess i just need to buckle down and figure it out .

Two chicks at the same time.
I missed out on this once. Two chicks offered. I was in what I thought was a pretty serious relationship at the time, so I declined.
fricked up part is that my girlfriend broke up with me two months later.
What could have been...

When I got out of college and got a decent job, I bought myself a 280Z car. Good times!!!! No spouse or kids.
