When entering I-10 and traveling west bound, there is a solid white line that extends for approximately 1/4 of a mile in the third lane (very far right).

A solid white line means what?

Does it mean that the cars entering the interstate can pick and choose which driving laws apply to them and merge without a blinker into the second lane and then flip you off?

Yep, I’m mad. A person in the complete wrong goes on the offensive. It didn’t sit well with me.

I went on the offensive. I can see why road rage happens. Not justifying it but when the other person is in the complete wrong and simply DNGAF, sometimes immediate justice can be a good solution.

BR drivers just suck. And yes, I have to go there today. BR is 10X worse then New Orleans when it comes to drivers. See, New Orleans is not all that bad.

While we are at it, can we discuss their propensity to drive down the ramp at 35mph and merge onto the interstate before accelerating to the speed of travel? What in the ever living frick do they think that long arse ramp is for? Speed up and merge AT the speed of travel so you don’t cause every car on the interstate to slam on their brakes.

This is infuriating. I see people have to pull over the shoulder because they can not merge. Well duh, you're doing 35 and everyone is doing 60.

Single Solid White lines indicate movement from lane to lane is hazardous. The wider the line, the greater the hazard. You may cross a solid white line only with great care

No blinker, merging at a speed less than what matches interstate speed and a middle finger doesn’t constitute hazardous.

I blame the state and it's abhorrently easy standards to pass a driver's license examination

couldn't you have just moved over a lane and kept on going about your day?

You don't understand. The person was not in a position to merge. They have their own fricking lane until the 10-12 split. At that point they'll have to change lanes once to continue 10WB. OP is correct. We see this often because some drivers incorrectly think they have to merge. But this is where 10 goes from 2 to 3 lanes WB and converges from 3 to 2 EB.

See my lil picture. the two red rectangles show where this typically happens. If the car entering the highway realizes that he's got his OWN LANE for the next 7 miles, then car in the now middle lane should not have to move for that jackfrick. Thus the 1000 foot solid white line is there to tell them they SHOULD stay in their lane.

Single solid white line: Can cross over with caution; basically yield to existing traffic before crossing it.

Double solid white lines: Illegal to cross.

For some reason, this entrance ramp is the one of the worst for this too. I typically have to zoom over a couple of lanes (with care over the white line), just for survival.

This reminds me, I saw a WBRZ vehicle at the top of the Louise street (or whatever it is right there) onramp heading eastbound oon I-10 recently...at a dead stop! There were a good 10-12 cars stopped behind HER as well. No idea how that worked itself out, but it really made me

How about the I-10 WB on ramp between bluebonnet and Essen? You have 2 fricking miles to merge before you’re forced off at Essen, don’t merge onto the interstate the moment the dashes start when you’re going 45mph. You have the entire fricking lane to speed up.

Every morning I have to get on 10 from the 12 overpass ramp.

At the bottom of the ramp is the Essen Lane exit.

Trying to merge onto 10 with folks in the far right hand lane is maddening every morning. 2 mornings out of 5 I almost get kilt.

I know many are trying to get off at Essen, but the rest are just inconsiderate slow pokes in the right hand lane that won't let anyone get in.

I've got people in front of me slowing down to get on Essen. I've got people whipping by me to my left refusing to let me in.... and I'm boxed in!!!
