Remember that the neighboring parish of St James doesn't want any industry bc they will get cancer, so don't hire not one resident from there. Amazing how they complain they are POOR but don't want any industry coming in to St James. I see their interstate billboards claiming life if better without any industry.

The article mentions that it land is part of the RiverPlex MegaPark, which looks like it's all on the west bank north of Donaldsonville.

electric arc furnaces.

Those are using in 20mins the same power a house uses in a year. 2 kettles an hour if nothing down for maintenance.

The Advocate is already gearing up for their stories of how they want to build this new steel mill over the top of once believed slave burial grounds.

You can't build anything anywhere around Donaldsonville that wasn't once a plantation or directly adjacent to one. They will steer clear of graveyards.

I'm taking the St. James opposition as a coordinated leftist media defense against a horrific, totalitarian EPA lead and locals that wanted to shake down Formosa. Both of those threads are highly diminished right now, especially with Trump and Landry in place. The EPA even dropped their lawsuits.

It's up to Formosa to decide if the juice is worth the squeeze. They can get it done now if they wanted to.

My father's family operated one of the farms in that river bend for about a hundred years prior to 2000. I remember well the gravel river road from d'ville to the farm. That is a historical farming area, grew Perique tobacco in the 1800's.

Thanks!

Maybe this will mean they finally finish 4-laning LA 1 between WC and D-ville.

And the 3127 extension, which should absolutely roll all the way north across I-10 and connect to US190.

I was told there is a fly ash shortage when I needed some for a project. I'm sure it can be sold.

What are they needing steel for? Shouldn’t it be a plastics mill?

Wonder what this could do to Nucor Steel down in Convent

I imagine it will do little to impact them as Hyundai is making its own products. Nucor is spending $ now on expansions for emissions capturing
