I did it in 1995. Got a Carrier system for $2500 and financed it with 0%.
Free money is free money
Free money is free money

Have you ever known anyone that financed an HVAC system?
You don’t have to admit it but I’m curious?
Mine will run $20k to replace. If it's 0%, why the heck would I NOT finance it?

I just had to replace my inside and outside unit, and ductwork. My home warranty paid me 20% of the total cost after I showed the paid invoice.
They did offer financing but it wasn't 0% interest, so I just bit the bullet. If it was 0%, I may have considered it.
FWIW, they originally quoted repair cost that amounted to about half of the full replacement cost. Considering 20% from the home warranty, I decided to just replace it all (everything was 30+ years old). I'm very happy with the decision. I stay cool at all times (which I struggled with before), my electric bill is dropping quickly (not that it was too bad before), and I have a nice warranty on parts and labor now.

Get yourself a Carrier or Trane system and see how hard that payment is every month.

Doesn’t that give the power company access to restrict usage at their behest.
That was being done in tract homes that build with the promise of being green. Of course I would check any contract carefully and not give them access to my internet.

Not as bad as the repair bills for the piece of fricking shite Trane breaking.

I will take free money every time.

Know a guy that works for an HVAC company and they do a ton of financed projects. Not many people can come out of pocket $12,000 if their system needs to be replaced.

I'd say more than 50% of people you know can't afford a replacement AC with cash. So so yes you probably know someone who has

Why is that so hard for people to understand?

We did. 0%. Paid $1000 a month until paid off instead of the huge hit at once with a newborn.

Always negotiate the price and don’t act like you want to take the 0% financing. Then, after you agree to a price, bring out the 0% interest offer….even better when it’s a promo

What’s a new hvac unit costing these days with Biden at the realms? 20k for your basic?
Posted on 8/25/23 at 6:14 pm to Tempratt
I basically rent mine. It's so much a month with lifetime maintenance with replacement after 10 years or so.
It's actually saved me since Trane sucks and had to replace 2 compressors in less than 4 years. It was like 2k more than just buying a new unit outright. Not really satisfied with Trane though.

I had to do it once. A/C took a shite in the middle of summer and had to be replaced. Sure, I can afford $10K cash now, but not so much in my late 20's with 2 young kids.

Get to know someone really handy with hvac experience, have a trane 5 ton compressor went out, we bought just the compressor and replaced it for 1800
..was going to be 8k to replace with inferior brand..I paid a case of beer on top of parts

My brother in law did. Had to replace his AC to the tune of 10k. He never has cash or savings so he financed it.
Just had to get that dig in.
