Very small storms can ramp up fast and Beryl has taken full advantage of marginal SSTs and low shear and even has a small eye.

What's the idea behind reusing obscure-as-frick names like "Beryl"

Should’ve used “Brayden” or “Broughdy”

Lol just this week CSU revised their forecast to make it a calmer season. It's only early July and this shite is ramping up. It's going to be a busy season.

I have a layover in Panama City next Thursday before going to Costa Rica. Is this storm still supposed to fall apart before reaching Puerto Rico?

Yeah that's the forecast but I don't get the question. What does Puerto Rico have to do with Panama City and Costa Rica?

The thought would be a storm falling apart before PR wouldn't be any threat to Panama City or Costa Rica. That's not necessarily true, but I'd imagine that's his line of thinking.

Why is their always one model that goes straight for New Orleans? Is it an inside joke at NOAA? Even though this thing is projected to die in a couple of days, someone has to slip in the token straight to New Orleans model.
