80s in Feb, 20s in March, hurricanes in April.

On a side note...this year marks the 30th anniversary of the "storm of the century". I was in college studying meteorology and made the trip to Florida for Spring Break. Freaking cold with snow on the ground in Fort Walton Beach...

This was always a tricky setup and more of a meteorological curiosity vs. a real threat. Models have shifted away from keeping the surface low out over the Gulf and now keep it too close to the coast and move it onshore before there is any threat of it transitioning into a hybrid or tropical system.
