Euro has a weak system hitting FL. Bring a raincoat for Disney.

GFS says enjoy your vacation.

Not gonna lie, I'm totally ignorant on how to read these things. When is this system expected to make it to/through Florida? Is Saturday/Sunday what I'm looking at?

1. Look at the picture.
2. Look at the date atop the picture.

I see these small tropical systems as good news. They dissipate the heat in the Gulf at a slow and less destructive rate.

Interwebs says Euro is more accurate. Be interested to know if one is more accurate for hurricane season or if el no /la Nina cycles play a factor into accuracy.

Internet also said GFS model was changed last year because of accuracy reason. I'm sure the local meteorologist folks can better answer this. Thanks for providing a place for them though. I get better up to date info here than from the news or Twitter. Less BS to filter through.

Those images are about 42 hours old and the models have since trended towards a compromise between the two. There is good agreement on rain for South Florida and that NHC will name this mess. There is still uncertainty around how far north into Florida does the rain spread.

But just in general, I'm not sure any one model is a slam dunk over the other.

Only very briefly unfortunately. If we had a bunch of these rainmakers streaming across the Gulf in August/September, we'd be golden. But that's not what forms as you all know.

By land or by sea?,

The ferry ride out there could be quite the trip.

Will Austin get some rain?

Does redneck need to drive down to the camp to pick up the boats?

Will the rice fields be OK?

What of Punta Cana?

I've always been a fan of coupling.

ETA: Just one year I wish we'd run the list of names backwards. It is bullshite that the A names always get shafted with a borderline name-worthy mess.
