Here's my deal....

I'm the president of our bass club and we are supposed to fish out of Bayou Black(Morgan City are for those not around here) this Saturday/Sunday. I know Sunday is a wash.

At what point on Saturday will we start experiencing the effects from the storm? Rain/wind gusts in particular. We are usually out of the water for 3. I'd hate to cancel a day if the rain and gusts won't really hit till Saturday evening.

We'll have to watch and see if Nate can wrap the convection all the way around the center of circulation, but that may prove difficult since the center is pretty broad at the moment.

This is a relatively welcomed sight this morning. Nate's going to be on the doorstep of SE LA in 36 hours, so a ragged structure now will continue to lessen the chance for high-end development later.

How long do you need to call it off? The Morgan City area probably won't see anything drastic before 3PM on Saturday, and there is a decent chance areas to the west of Nate won't see anything at all. Here is the NAM model, for some reference:

Tell them it's still on, but if they'd like to sit out and prep for the hurricane you understand and you'll refund them? Is it possible? Just throwing things out.

In my non-expert opinion, I think areas west of MC will be in good shape throughout. I think you'll be okay to keep the tournament on, and we'll know more by 1PM today too, so check back then.

So the official track takes it across the mouth of the Mississippi River with a second landfall near Biloxi?

That's one of the possibilities in the official track

This is what I've told them to this point. I told them we would make a decision between 1 & 2, so i'll wait for a later model release and go from there

It looks more like a tropical wave than a tropical storm.

I'll quote one of our meteorologists.

quote:

Until the EURO jumps more east, then I wouldn't pay much attention to it. All of the model runs that went east are based off the GFS grid.
