Wouldn't be surprised to see the next confirmed pressure actually a tick higher than 991, at least based on the last two passes.

The cone shows Nate should be moving NW right now but it's been at a pretty good NNW clip all day.

3km NAM model says, no, not really:
Anything to the west of landfall is going to be decently windy, humid, but relatively dry too.

Forecast: 40-60 mph gusts
1inch rain
OT lounge: next Harvey. A monster. Run for your life

It has started to move more NW in the last hour or two:
ETA - Well, it's not really a true NW in that image. You're right, it's still moving north of northwest.

Unless the NHC and every computer model blew this forecast, BR is basically in the clear.
Rumblings about a center relocation among the nerd message boards. Resettling under the big convection SE might open the door for a little additional strengthening tonight.

I intentionally did not go to the dealership to get a car cash anticipating some rain.

The OT crazies, to be fair.

I watch the news and it looks like NBD but it seems some people here are a little more worried.
I'm in Orange Beach. Guess we'll re-evaluate in the morning and make a decision.

Well this is an interesting drop:
993 mb but had a wind of 61mph. Hurricane force winds slightly off the ground @ 968mb.

I'm in venetian isles and the water is up 2' already. 3 more feet and it's in the garage level. I raized 2 fridges and a freezer up a few feet and put fishing rods and the good tools upstairs. Moved the boat and tractor to higher ground. Tomorrow I'll be at my Philipina's house in Algiers where the pumps are good.

Orange Beach is probably going to get punched in the mouth with some shitty arse weather, surge, and winds, but it's unlikely to be anything life threatening.

Good news is sometimes the pressure is lower than the wind speed and the storm runs into land does not catch up.

NHC is saying Venetian Isles area could see surge up to 6 feet above ground level.
This storm is going to pack a bigger surge than it's wind speeds would suggest. Levi Cowan points it out in his video this evening, but there is basically going to be unbridled south winds flowing from Central America to the northern Gulf Coast. Even 40 mph winds, for that long, over that much water, will be an issue.

North of you in Lakeshore/Slidell our water was up about 4' above normal early this week. Slowly dropped out 18-20" over Wednesday-Friday morning with the light north wind overnights. Now back up 6" since sun down. Starting out about 3ft above normal.
