North/west side of the storm is the threat for the east coast. St. Augustine would have water pushing out in that scenario

I sure hope that shear forecast is right. I think Tampa needs to prepare for a Cat 5 just from the fact that intensity forecast have been off the last couple days.

I live in PVB. If it goes south like near Daytona or even St Aug. the wind will come from the ocean as it passes me. That’s good for me not good for many. It blows my oaks away from my house not towards it. I think we will be ok. I honestly am worried about the West coast this time for real.

I'm noticing a more ENE direction that has lasted long enough to make it not just a slight jog. That turn wasn't supposed to happen for another 5+ hours.

As the storm moves NE there will be wind shear( strong winds) moving from West to East that will impact the storm. How close to landfall all that starts to happen combined with how much it'll impact is unknown at this point. Wind shear will also cause most of the rain to go northeast instead actually at the landfall. So Tampa for instance thankfully won't get 10ft surge plus another 10+ inches of rain like a usual landfall according to Levi's video.

Even if it gets to a 2 it'll still come with extremely high surge.

This type of thinking actually blows my mind. “Yeah it’s never happened before so that means it never will.“ People are fricking crazy.

I guess some people are either too lazy or too comfortable to be inconvenienced to leave.

But they’ll be the first ones on top of their roofs, screaming for help while putting other peoples’ lives in danger

Who would hit the sign language woman in BDR's presser? She looks about 60, with excellent genetics.

I am in flood zone A in St. John’s County. I feel good about where I am. It would take an Atlantic cat 4/5 not a gulf one. I somehow got tied into the Zone A when they change it a few years ago. I am probably at the highest point here. I do think the areas in town along the St John’s in Jville and along the ICW are going to not be good.

Nope. Tampa does not want that. A huge difference in destruction can happen to Tampa with just a 25-50 mili long jog north or south.

I own a home on the second block inland on 2nd street at SAB. I was reclassified as zone B a few years ago. My flood insurance went way down.

I’m not too worried about that house. It’s my primary home NW of Orlando that I’m worried about. It’s headed pretty close to me.
