I asked a simple fricking question.

This area is already under duress.

I hope the best for them, seems like they're already inundated with rain.

There are posters here that live in that area. This is real, it's not your CoD shite.

Why such a harsh response? Your question was answered pretty well without any snark. Other than the guy who probably wears a helmet everywhere he goes saying it is a "coincidence" I didn't see much to set you off.

Can this thing really make it to cat 5 in the open Gulf before weakening closer to Florida?

Yes.

Small cores happen fast in both directions.

But if im in the path, I would be acting like it isnt going to weaken in my prep.

Maybe best not to engage fools. Tough to convince ego driven fools that they’re fools.

The note about it growing in size is important. Impacts will spread out and it brings more surge. Even if it does weaken b4 land.

The models originally had this thing as a "rainmaker" when it first appeared in the forecasting so I would treat this like an incoming Category 5 and get out of dodge.

They also keep noting the error in track at the time of landfall. I know they are hugging the consensus, but it might be too far south.

It staying just small enough to where the brush with the Yucatan has absolutely no effect on it is kind of kick in the dick.

I wouldn't be surprised if recon finds RI is already in high gear. The dual rotating hot towers are usually a sign that things are going gangbusters
