Anyone notice the storm trending north of the NHC track and heading closer to Tampa.

You will probably lose some screens. You could have them replaced with screens with a purple and gold tint.

Listen here baw… you best stay safe through this thing cuz I still haven’t gotten your best tips on Hartwell yet!

In all seriousness ya’ll be safe. I couldn’t talk my son and his GF from leaving Sarasota so I’m gonna be a mess for the next 24 hrs plus. He’s just off Clark Ave. (hwy72) in Sarasota about 2 miles from the beach.
(If you happen to see him float by throw him a life preserver and tell him his Dad says he still loves him… even if he’s a dumbazz. )

Pull your Bronco all the way up against the door as close as possible once you close it. Also put any other of those heavier objects up against door where you can. The vehicle may get a few small scratches/dents if the door moves a little

A blanket or towels draped over the front of the hood could probably mitigate some of this.

That what model runs had been showing in contrast to the spaghetti plots/nhc in the ongoing track battle royale we’ve had all season long.

Is there a reason why they dont put radar stations of the off shore rigs? Seems like a few of the lower ones off LA and AL costs would just about give coverage of the entire gulf.

It looks like its fighting. On another radar (Mike's Weather Page) the eyes is reforming or pulling back NW as its going East and the bottom has a little action. Not an expert tho

flood barrier designed to protect a Florida hospital just withstood Hurricane Helene, however it may not be enough to stop Milton.

Tampa General Hospital contains the region's only Level 1 trauma center, meaning it is equipped to provide 24-hour care from general surgeons, provide referrals and resources to the community, and can meet its minimum requirement for severely injured patients every year, according to the American Trauma Society.

The hospital was not evacuated during Hurricane Helene, and used a flood barrier manufactured by a Norwegian-based company AquaFence as one of the methods to protect itself, Tampa General Hospital spokesperson Jennifer Crabtree told local media outlet WESH 2 News.

Well that’s not going to be good if the barrier fails.

Probably cost and the likelihood that they'd get destroyed. We have radar holes in the US on land because these arseholes won't fund new ones. Gotta take care of those first, and I doubt they ever will.

ETA: And I can't imagine saltwater is good for them.

Sometimes storms are so strong that Radar doesn't penetrate the eyewall to get a good representation of the back side of the system.

And to the other poster, I would support a gulf NWS Radar station somewhere in the Gulf as it is needed for these types of events.
