She looks like she's pissed that she tried to get Wilmas record three times now and couldn't do it.

That's the shear everyone has been waiting on . Near landfall and hope it happens early enough to take some of the brute out.

I keep seeing these huge thunderstorms in the path of this storm and it almost looks like its keeping this hurricane fueled and keeping dry air out.

The eye is becoming less well defined. Not sure if that’s the result of shear and/or dry air or if an eyewall replacement cycle is happening

I was wondering the same. Less favorable conditions so hopefully it’s finally starting to weaken a bit.

On this trajectory, looks like Tampa could be spared the worst case scenario.

Feel bad for those in Ft Myers and the likes, but at least the 3rd biggest city in Florida won't be under 10-15ft of water.

My wife’s aunt / uncle and cousins own and operate a large snowbird RV retirement park about 12 miles outside of port charlotte north & east .

Charlie hit them really hard and other storms have impacted them greatly.

Concerned this maybe the one that finally makes them close shop.

They will stay and ride it out in the clubhouse and any residents that’s didn’t evacuate will do the same.

Even with the projected surge water shouldn’t be a problem.

As most of us who’ve been thru a flood/ storm etc you genuinely feel for everyone that is going to be affected.

This storm seems different but I pray they all stay safe. This thing needs to start losing strength right now.

Looks like its finally starting to get to it on satellite but core of the storm is too well formed. Will prob only drop to a 3 at most but will still have the surge of a 4-5.

Exactly how Katrina came in. Cat 3 with a five plus storm surge. Praying for Florida in this one.
