My post simply states that the variability in outcomes has become more broad between 0z and 6z runs. Those far western members weren't as prevalent in 0z.

shite, I'm retarded. I had the z times backwards. You are absolutely correct. There are indeed more westward members now than before.

Would you mind extrapolating what this could mean in your professional opinion? Also what are your thoughts on the strength forecast at this point? Thank you!

Safe to say now that they have an official center that the next runs at 1:00 should be pretty locked in with the exception of the typical margin of error for this far out?

Anyone familiar with the area have any thoughts on if it's possible or likely that a mandatory evac is issued for Gulf Shores/OB for this one?

Not till the warnings and watches come out. Mandatory evacuation probably at the 24 to 36 hour mark usually

The space city weather guys, often to fault, are anti-doomcasters. This has led to some misses notably beryl and Imelda. That said if they are pimping the cat 3 narrative then it’s worth noting

Yeah I think as long as storm speed and landfall remain consistent they’ll just kickoff Saturday night as planned.

Also with the two fixes on the center looks like it's been a true northeast heading in the shortterm. Might now mean much but something to keep an eye on

Why do you turds insist on ignoring plaquemines parish?

The mainstream media is the worst at it. Every single one of my friends from south Plaq had their lives completely altered after Katrina. Every single one of them. Most people I know never moved back to their homes.

But all you ever hear/heard about was New Orleans and Mississippi. Plaquemines was always forgotten even though multiple communities and cities were completely wiped out.

Yes I realize this is a ‘me’ issue and nobody here cares - just sucks because those people never got the attention they needed and deserved

Decent chance the southern end of the parish gets hammered with this one - but everyone here keeps (prematurely) saying that Louisiana will be spared

I have never been on their site/forum or whatever, but the idea of this one hitting cat 3 status before it starts to weaken on approach is not at all crazy.

Exactly.

But it’s a question of when not if at this point for those areas.

They need to get the tourists out but they wait as long as they can so that the rentals don’t lose more days than needed.

As soon as it’s a mandatory evacuation they can’t hit you with a cancellation day or trip charge.
