it looks like it could remove key west off of the face of the earth.

If I'm picking up what the model runs are putting down, they're all in agreement that Irma's going to get picked up by that low and get dragged North, but what they are up in the air about is the timing of everything and when that happens will determine which poor sons of bitches win the prize.
Is that about it?

What would be a rough estimate of time until landfall if it hit LA?
I know it's hard to estimate but how long are we talking? 2 weeks?

That's what it looks like. Depends on how much it strengthens and how fast it moves down could shift that thing 100 miles east/west by the slightest change it seems.

If it made it to LA, id guess Wednesday of next week.

week to week and a half max if it made it that far would be my guess.

Yea, I think a week and a half to LA or here in the Mobile area if it ended up like that.

Had to postpone my last trip because of Harvey then rescheduled it for the 21st. May be postponing that one too.

I think we all need to get a drink and do a little calm down currently. I think NOAA has an upper atmosphere plane doing some data gathering and those extra soundings going today. All that data should get fed into the 00z models tonight.
Those will help clarify the picture hopefully.
