Outer Banks gonna get hammered again

Trough is a little stronger moving out of the NE vs 12z but the storm is farther SW before making the turn north. So it might be a wash in the end. Regardless, another close call for Miami before the turn.

Landfall is basically in the same spot. Odd how that works out over 204 hours with run-to-run changes in the overall setup.

Outer Banks if you had to guess?

Let me make sure I have this correct, the GFS is forecasting this thing to have 886-893 mbs of pressure off the coast of Florida?
That's a Category 5...easily.

That is an EXTREME category 5. There haven't been more than 2 or 3 storms like that in recorded history.

This appears to come in to North Carolina and leave South Carolina alone, for the most part. Being on the west side of the impact area will be good for S. Carolina, but the outer banks of North Carolina are going to be stripped bare if that comes in as a Cat 5.

Has Peej made his misprediction yet?

Seems like even though it's getting farther and farther to the SW every run, the latest GFS is showing the hardest turn yet. The models must be gaining faith in that trough.

Irma is going to be a bad bitch.
