No one is upset except for you. Most of us are just making observations and proving you wrong. It's pretty simple and laid back as far as I can tell

Eye slowly clearing out post eyewall replacement. About the longest replacement I've ever seen, took the better part of two days to even get here.

Pressure slowly drops going forward but limited by Cuba interaction. Not enough to really weaken it, as NHC at 5 explained, but at least enough to keep it from bombing.

For instance - how quickly could we have a shift where this thing ends up hugging the eastern side of the cone?

Don't assume it's going to HAVE to "shift" and end up on top of you. If you're in the cone, you're in the cone. It could end up anywhere in there anywhere in the timeframe listed. Assume you're getting hit and prepare accordingly for how long the prediction says you have until the storm will arrive. If you're in the 5 day cone, start preparing for a hurricane to be at your door in five days. If you're in the three day cone, prepare for it to be there in three days. If the cone shrinks because the time horizon is approaching and you don't stay in it, be glad. At least the next time you're in a three day cone, you'll be that much farther ahead.

More importantly, companies shut down Miami offices on Wednesday but left Bay Area offices open through today. Some Gulf coast residents got a raw deal with the evacuation timing regardless of what any models said.

Yeah Miami kinda needed to GTFO based on the long range consensus. I'd imagine they're happy the impacts seem like they'll be much less in Miami at the moment.

I can't keep up with this thread no matter how hard I try. What have I missed since about 1 besides The Boat being a contrarian?

Side note, Hurricane Katia is now a category 3 storm. Thank God she stayed in the Bay of Campeche.

Fair enough. But all I said was they think this is hitting the Gulf side which is surprising from what they thought all week. Not sure what makes people upset about that.

So in the land of the bizarre, South Carolina's governor just announced mandatory evacuations for Beaufort, Colleton and Jasper counties.

58 mph sustained winds extend 115 miles to the east of the eye. Gonna be pretty breezy throughout the entire state.
