Thanks ForeverLSU for the image finding.

rds mentioned how the Euro ensambles tend to have an overly spread out profile...well there's little question looking at that tight cluster. Big bend to the Glades. Which is still spread out for exact location of worst impacts but with such a big storm pretty much all Florida is going to feel something.

just a few days ago there were some models predicting landfall to be on the South Carolina coast...

...which would be east of Florida

Ha sounds fun. Love Poes. We are heading over near baymeadows tomorrow morning. Hope we don't get any flooding at the beach.

that orange track would be a nightmare

people probably evacuated to the panhandle

If that orange track verified, anyone that evacuated to panhandle would be thrilled. They could just drive home to undamaged homes.

Dude it was right off the east side of Florida on the north turn. They have been very accurate for the past several days. It jumps from west Florida to East side just as I said. It's hitting Carolinas because it makes the sharp turn North but it's still right off the coast. That's why the margin of error was there to Panhandle. That margin of error has been very consistent. It's not like you saw a huge shift one way or the other. I'd say they've done a good job forecasting this storm to get people prepared the past 5 days especially.

With the traffic crawling along bumper to bumper there's probably not a lot of speeding going on.

There's some small towns in LA that could figure out how to do it!!!

The orange track isn't really a model used for forecasting. It is a climatology model.

They're starting to announce southern/middle Georgia school closings for Monday. Will probably include more counties over the weekend.

Keep us updated. I'd like to hear how that works out for him.
Tried reaching him. No answer. He may have decided to fly out after all. Hope to hear from him soon.

Yeah I understand that now that the Clp5 isn't even a model.

Thoughts on upcoming NHC update at 4pm? Slight bump to the west with western edge of cone at Pensacola?

I don't think they'll shift the cone west much, if at all. They'll probably just tighten it on the eastern edge and perhaps shift the center track marginally to the west.

sounds like the perfect opportunity for a town like Golden Meadow to do an inspection and insurance check

My wife has friends that evacuated over to the panama city area yesterday They are headed back this way to Jacksonville tomorrow most likely. frick that noise, driving all over the state before this storm is within 2 days away.

They'll probably spend less time on the road with those trips combined than if they waited until they were in the cross hairs 48 hours out.
