He's in Branden, just to the east of Tampa. Hope he reconsiders. He also owns two planes. He should at least fly one out to safety.

Keep us updated. I'd like to hear how that works out for him.

Liz: FYI - I just got off the phone with my buddy in Cape Coral. He's out running errands and checking on his rental properties. I asked him about the gasoline situation. He said he has had no problems yet. Some stations are closed, but plenty have gas and minimal lines. He said he had just filled up at a Racetrack near Lehigh Acres. I know the Ft Myers/Cape Coral/Lehigh area is 30 or 40 miles from Naples, but it sounds like there is gas to be had there, if you need it.

If the track narrows in the next 24 hours or so, it may not be a terrible idea to leave the west coast of Florida and head for the east coast. As it sits right now, Fort Lauderdale is a better place to be than Naples, for instance.

I understand this is a massive evacuation, and delays are going to happen. But every small town police dept needs to be out right now doing traffic control.

Florida governments are not looking too good right now.

I guess the next thing we will hear are these small town cops running radar.

I'm driving I-10 from Mobile to New Orleans(currently stopped in Biloxi) and I-10 West is chocka block full of Fla and Ga plates, cars and trucks loaded down.

Louisiana is going to be full of Texas, Florida and Georgia folks for a while. Maybe we can get a few good ones to stay.

I bet some of them do, but after the Casinos kick them out they'll come to New Orleans.

For another 3 hours then leaving. With work , we didn't have a choice. We own 3 funeral homes and can't just run anytime we want.

Thoughts on upcoming NHC update at 4pm? Slight bump to the west with western edge of cone at Pensacola?
