Is it too late to leave Tampa? Is their gas headed north?

Is Euro ensembles out yet? I'd be interested to see where the spread is on it or how tight it is.
I haven't seen the Euro yet, but here is the 12z GFS:

Like it has been explained countless times in this thread SE LA was in the cone 72 hours out for Katrina so this is not like Katrina

Are you in cape coral? That's the only place i've heard of this.
Checked with my buddy in Tallahassee and he hasn't heard anything about a statewide ban yet either.
Signs on the Winn Dixie said this was from the Governor. ABC stores are all closed.

Looks like they're going to take a direct hit. Grandfather is in assisted living, grandmother is with aunt and uncle.
They're still inland. Evacuating may be harder on them than the actual storm. That said, days without power and resources after will be rough and are the bigger worry IMO. It's a tough call, but not a no-brainer. Anyone been in touch with the assisted living facility to see what their preparations are? Emergency generator there?

Question for the weatherbuffs.
Has the EURO always been considered a reliable model? I may be totally wrong but I feel like in years past that the GFS was the one to put weight into and EURO was a bit of an outcast and discarded like the Canadian.

They might be more receptive if you specifically tell them which flight to get on. I'd head over to the Travel Board and post in CuseTiger's thread. He can help you with options.
My mother in law is a retired flight attendant. They have a lifetime buddy pass and she is a flight scheduling genius
That's not the problem.

Well, best of luck. I hope they decide to leave before it's too late. If anything, for comfort after the power inevitably goes out.

Looks like we're getting into our second Katrina debate of the day a bit earlier than expected.
In general I agree with you but the 11am Friday and 11pm Friday forecast tracks make his point much better.
I'm too lazy to post for you but at 11am Friday New Orleans East was barely in the cone, most of the metro area was not. By 11pm, the metro area was in the bullseye, dead center of cone.

My friend is in Tampa and inland. Had a hotel outside of there somewhere in case needed. He said it's impossible to get out, and more dangerous for him to try and evacuate now. Says it's gridlock everywhere. I don't know if it's possible now for him to even get his family to the airport if he wanted.
