I wouldn't be surprised if this thing hits the gulf and runs up the west side parallel to the the Florida west coast and strengthens.

Let me know when you see a single model/forecast that suggests it won't make the turn.
I didnt see a single one yesterday showing a Tampa landfall and I dont see one today showing a Panama City landfall, but I'm expecting to tomorrow night.
I have no idea why yall put so much faith in these things

is that actually a thing...?

I have family in Venice. Should they leave? I've been trying to convince them to bug out.

Because they're as accurate as they can be
This storm is huge and you're acting like it shifting 20 miles is a complete failure of a prediction.

Liz idk you or anyone really here but stay safe. Maybe if you're from Louisiana originally you're the catholic praying type. I'd keep a rosary close by. (Im the Catholic praying type)
Grew up going to the Latin Mass, though now I am a heathen. I still remember my prayers, I may say a few, you do the same OT. Thank you all, for the information, it is so appreciated. Y'all are like the a-hole big brothers who loves you but gives you constant shite. Thank you all in this thread.

just a day ago:
Not a single projection had the eye of the storm hitting central Florida.
For Harvey, no one had a clue where it was going for 48 hours. The purpose of the post is to point out the volatility of these storms and who's to say when we wake up tomorrow the eye won't be another 200 miles east or west?

Zephyrhills, northeast of Tampa. Basically where the eye moves through.

Florida or Louisiana?
Florida - yes, if they can.
Louisiana - not yet, but it's looking like they should at least be prepared in the next couple of days, just to be safe.

Now, we have a Solar flare that just happened this week. The largest solar flare since 2005 plus an earthquake. The panhandle needs to start prepping for the worst.
Huh?

Irma has been trading secrets with Iran and North Korea. She now has nuclear capabilities.

I mean Slidell is not on the coast but it has very little protecting it. I live about 60 miles inland in a rural area about 2 miles from where the normal mandatory evacuation zone starts. and have gone through Andrew, Lily, Rita, Gustav, and Ike
The house I live in now is 100 years old so its been through a lot more than that
The eye of Andrew and Lily passed over my house. The only way I would even think about leaving is a CAT 5 was coming straight for me. We have a generator now but didnt before gustav and ike
yea being without power sucks but you make due and prepare ahead of time. Better than being stuck in some hotel in Arkansas waiting for the storm to pass.

I'm safe in south Louisiana ... watching and worrying about Harvey was too much yet I'm still watching irmas wrath. I'm a soft hearted female sap with three kids and it's my nature to worry.
God bless everyone affected already and those who will be.

What's the chances of this thing going right out into the gulf?
Zero?
Zero?

In the last 24 hours its shifted from Mia and into the atlantic to Tampa, how is that 20 miles?
And for the people who want to claim "within the cone", of course it stays within the cone when the cone is shifted with every update as well.
