RIP St. Maarten, St. Bart's, and Anguilla. The eye is going to skirt just north of those islands.
Agree. Looks like St Barts and Anguilla have cross hairs on them.

Two more islands I love. It's like this hurricane has my greatest hits in the Caribbean right in its' crosshairs.
You can add St. Maarten to the crosshairs. Right between Anguilla and St. Barths.

We went on our honeymoon at St. Barts and have been back a few times since. Cat 5 would decimate that little island.
Anguilla is flat. Can't imagine what a storm like this would do.

I hope they fully evacuated anegada to virgin gorda or Tortola. That island is flat and surge and waves will likely result in a lot of deaths if people stay there.

Irma's as impressive as they get in the Atlantic.

Any coral island in the path is in big trouble. Poor Anegada.

Isn't she unprecedented for an Atlantic storm?

The NHC update came out early for some reason at 7:35pm. Just a few minutes later is when that dropsonde found 195mph winds. Not sure why they are publishing early but missed the lower pressure and increased winds in the 8pm update. They will either issue and intermediate advisory or wait until 11pm.

Like I said....my mom has a friend on St. Maartin and apparently there's no way to leave the island (I don't believe that). I have a feeling the dude and his family are going to die.

Is there any live weather reports from the Caribbean? And imagine just a couple hundred years ago not even knowing this shite was coming

Went to Costco in NOLA after work to fill up. Lines were crazy long.
Went into Cotsco and people were stocking up on water like crazy. They were out of the 32 oz ozarka bottles - I had to get smartwater.
