Its no longer a Hurricane now it is just one large F-4 almost a F-5 Tornado that's over water.

There is ample space for it to turn. The 3 day forecast is pretty nailed down, days 3-5 are iffy. That curve at the end though is encouraging.

Can anyone explain how it has 185mph winds at 931MB? When every other storm that come close to that has been way lower?

I know people are jumping on Bob, but he did mention the path change Katrina made, and it was something I was thinking about today. I remember how it was supposed to hit the Florida panhandle, and midnight Friday before it hit checking the weather and it shifted right up our poop chute. At that point, Louisiana/Mississippi had only two days to prepare, as the storm hit Monday. I hate that anyone will be affected by this. I have a cousin in Tampa I've been talking to today and their family are making plans to head here. But I really, really don't want the storm to come here. I don't think I could handle another Katrina-like aftermath. If this thing makes it anywhere west past Miami I'm going to be a real nervous nancy.

I don't think it really matters at that point.

Agreed.

It is going to thread the needle between Cuba and Miami. Destroy both of those places.... however the keys will be absolutely wiped off the map.

Will sneak through that channel then get breathing room in the gulf and frick us up.

I'm calling landfall in Mobile. You heard it here first.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but if anything I would think gulf residents (excluding the west side of FL peninsula) should feel a bit better today than yesterday afternoon.

Seems to be increasing agreement that the track is up the west coast of FL or through central FL, right?

If people are waiting on the storm to actually start moving NNW or N, you're going to have a long week. Even the ensemble members that kick it out to sea don't turn it for another 96 hours.

All indications are that it will head WNW for the next 4 days.
