They're saying if they added a Category 6, that would be the threshold based on Cat 1-5 wind speeds.
I still don't see how they expect this thing to weaken from 180 to 135ish before landfall but I hope I'm wrong.

There were a lot of Hillsborough County license plates over in Bay Pines this morning at the Walmart.

. The current GFS track has Irma moving 13-14 MPH to the north as it brushes Florida. That forward motion can be subtracted from the winds that will come out of the north

They do. They are extrapolating out based on the other Categories. IF it went to Category 6, 158knots would be the logical barometer.
But they do not. It stops at 5.
