if you can tell me with 100% accuracy there won;t be an issue and are willing to put your name as responsible if something does happen, then I'm with you.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that this storm won't be here by 3 PM tomorrow. $100. Willing to VenMo money. Take me up?

JBE along with professionals in the know gave an update to local city and parish gov before he went on TV. Parishes shutting down schools are doing so just as precaution. It gets people off the road and allows for first responders to focus on potential unexpected emergencies.
Wasn’t talking about that. Trust me I know the process.
I meant him mentioned shutting down some state offices.

Pearl river county MS schools closing at lunch time.

just think if they didn't cancel and then we got a shite storm and kids got hurt? They would riot about that too
When is the last time that happened? This storm won't reach Louisiana until Wednesday. If it was a coastal parish closing down, I'd understand. But the BR and Northshore areas don't need evacuations so closing school down a day before a storm may or may not come through is a bit early.

Well if they shutdown schools, the likelihood of parents of school grade children wouldn’t be there anyway. And besides, why risk it if you don’t have to? Why put more people on the road and possibly escalate a situation? Renewing you drivers license can wait a few days.

that wasn't the point of my post my man but I appreciate you putting money where your mouth is.
And maybe I was unclear. I'm not saying the storm makes landfall earlier than projected. Just stating that there could absolutely be issues with weather tomorrow causing an a POTENTIAL issue
I'm not arguing that it isn't overly cautious, merely supporting the move out of potential threat of something happening out of the government's control
better safe than sorry is all I am saying

Why don’t we just start school in October? This happens every year.
