We probably won't see any significant strengthening until the system can build a central dense overcast (CDO). In the last few minutes some new convective burst have gone up to the west of a prolonged burst. If the CDO starts to fill in the purple circle, then we could see steeper pressure drops.

Before Katrina...nobody got worked up over a storm unless it was a Cat 3. It is crazy how sensitized everyone has gotten to these storms since then.
