I am flying out of Lafayette around 530 pm tomorrow evening Do I need to be concerned about this flight getting cancelled?

Schools are so ridiculous. It’s going to be gorgeous tomorrow. There is no reason to close tomorrow.

Orleans Parish schools closed

Old Metairie by Big Lee’s place can handle it just fine

Agreed. We just got the text that school is closed tomorrow (st Tammany). Seems a little over cautious.

I should add I’m flying out of Lafayette and my connecting flight is in Atlanta. Meaning I would be traveling in the direction and through the path of the storm. A 530 pm flight I’m thibking I make it through in time?

Lets shut down the entire state while we are at it

rather over cautious than the other way imo
missing a day of school is no big deal

You shouldn’t have any issues.

So this thing is supposed to get from Florida right now to disrupt the school day in NOLA tomorrow? Jeez
Posted on 9/3/18 at 5:44 pm to geauxtigers87
LOL, when you’re knuckle deep in grey matter, it happens.

Why do people on here melt about school cancellations? My son’s just texted us telling us they are closed and I didn’t run around screaming at the sky, should I?
Posted on 9/3/18 at 5:44 pm to VanRIch
Since St. Tammany is likely to have impacts, closing tomorrow makes sense. Get busses off the road, and let folks do some prep. Now if we start closing EBR schools...that would be a little much.
