The pictures the weather channel and Fox News were showing this morning did not look too bad. Very minor damage shown. So far. Hope it stays that way.

That was the Triangle Motor Inn on Wilmington Hwy outside of Jacksonville, NC. It was/is a giant shite hole where young Marines go to screw hookers

LINK

ETA: It's basically the Staring Motel of J-Vegas

Yeah most were trying to say the real damage will be from flooding as it’s such a slow mover. We shall see after today. Wind was never going to be a huge issue.

Has SC not beefed up code for buildings on/near the coast in the last 20 years?

The only updates I have had are from the Lejeune Facebook page. Everyone I know that is still stationed there evacuated. I do know they lost power last night and the Marines in the barracks are up to the normal jackassery (i.e. drinking and have a blast)

So was Florence this “Megastorm” (whatever that means) they’ve been predicting or just a standard hurricane?

Looks like a little bitch right now. Down to a depression. From what I understand, this makes it easier for it to go in the gulf and streghten back up. Looks like 3 models have it strengthening to a hurricane with 1 being cat 2.
