Heres an interesting observation, Brunswick Nuclear Plant is about 18 miles south of Wilmington NC right on the water.

What will REALLY bake your noodle is that the Bruswick plant is the EXACT same type of nuclear plant as Fukushima. They are both BWR-1's

The contraflow lanes on I-26 are so empty in comparison to the tradition lanes going out of Charleston. Looks like a nice drive.

Fukushima survived the earthquake and tsunami with minimal damage. The crisis began when the auxiliary generators went offline and they had no way to cool the reactors. I hope they have lots of diesel.

Using my master paint skills, here's a look at the outflow channels and ULL the NHC was talking about at 11 am. Healthy ventilation will support strengthening this afternoon, and the dry air looks mostly cut off around the system.

Yikes. Don’t need a Fukushima type event. Hope they can take it offline and secure any radioactive material

They are highly regulated to have plans and procedures in place for a disaster event. And those plans have to be tested annually with lessons learned and so forth. It will be fine.

one would hope that studies were done on what happened in fukushima and safeguards were put in place to make sure it doesnt happen anywhere ever again. if not, heads should roll.

stop getting everyone's hopes up. In the end, it doesn't even matter. I remember waiting for the tx plant to blow to no avail.
