I mean, they were pumping this season up like we were going to have 32 named storms, with 20 of em being major. It's been tame considering it's August and just had our 3rd system.

It’s only August 6th and we have had 2 hurricanes make US landfall both causing significant damage

*No immediate concerns* for us but the Climate Prediction Center says the Atlantic looks primed to potentially produce multiple systems in the mid-latter part of August.

The key takeaway is that the Atlantic could get quite active but much too early to speculate on specifics.

Exaggerate much?

Out of 15 professional outlets that released forecasts for the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season the average of their predictions was 24 named storms, 11 hurricanes, 5 major hurricanes, and 207 ACE (not all put out an ACE forecast).

Ridge over the Southern Plains should limit how far west this system can get.
