Most of Grand Bahama is out of the eye now and back into the eyewall.
Good news is that the east end of the island is essentially uninhabited. I browsed through Google Earth, and apart from a chemical storage facility, there is nothing really there.

Just watched. Really sad but I don’t see how they are going to make it. There’s not much space in that attic and water is already on them.

First recon pass has the pressure up to about 940. FL winds near 130 kt.
Probably more like 125-130 mph vs the 155 mph at last update.

Juno beach pier just had a 45 mph sustained wind measurement.
6-7 miles south barely a breeze right now.

That's awful. That family has/had zero chance.

The government is telling people to break through their attics and use flotation devices

That's about all anyone could do under those circumstances.
But how many took an ax and flotation devices into the attic with them?

“Find other means to stay alive” is not encouraging.

Jesus Christ, take a minute to reflect on that statement

What are they gonna tell everyone?

There will be a lot of unaccounted deaths because there were a lot of illegals from Haiti and Jamaica on that island

Can you imagine floating around in that shite hoping that you don’t get crushed and hoping that you aren’t swept out to sea.
