People also lived without A/C and survived. That doesn't mean it is wise to keep doing it.

The Home Depot has guy was putting them inside his enclosed SUV. WTF?

PS- you can get substitute gas nozzles for your plastic cans. On amazon. You don’t have the bizarre spring loaded spill proof things to deal with.

New GFS keeps it off Florida, hooks it well right and makes landfall in North Carolina. Actually makes landfall in South Carolina.

Sure has been a rough 3-4 years of hurricane season. This thing might end up a Cat 5 by landfall. Has there ever been a Cat 5 hitting US mainland 3 years in a row?

What was that storm that was a Cat 5 several years ago...I think it was 3-4 years ago. It barely missed Florida and curved out to sea. I remember it blew up overnight.

Irma was a Cat 5 was it or did it decline before it hit florida? I don't remember. I know that was a big arse storm that carved florida up. Irma, Michael, and possibly this one?

The part of the State has been hit hard over the last 4 years. The historic flood (2015), Matthew (2016), and Florence last year has caused major record flooding in this area. This storm seems to have a similar path like Matthew.

Yeah, that's why I'm asking because Florida has been getting hit really hard with major hurricanes the past few years.

I'll have to Google that one I'm thinking of. I remember it formed out in the Caribbean and blew up overnight. Missed Florida luckily.

Irma was a 4 when it made it to Florida. Michael was retroactively upgraded to a 5. Irma, Maria, and Michael were all 5's at some point, but Michael was the only one to hit the mainland U.S. as a 5.

interesting how far east the gfs op is than the gefs right now

feels like a little bit of an outlier, but I have seen this behavior as a precursor to a trend in the past. Luckily it's still pretty far out to allow for track adjustments.

Irma hit as a Cat 4, and was the first to do so in Florida since Charley in 2004......

I don't know, natural Atlantic hurricane cycle? It usually has a calm period them ramps up again. We went through a calm then it got really active again the past 4 years.
