Meth and Daniel Moore paintings.

Is it really predicted to nearly triple its metro population in 9 years? If so, that’s Vegas/Orlando kind of growth.

I can see that leading to a lot of butthurt. Huntsville has a lot to offer the aerospace industry, so I do take some issue with the notion that we lose out based on merit based reasons.
Not saying Huntsville is not worthy based on merit.
But considering that they're currently in the process of building roughly $1.1 billion worth of gov't projects around here right now for Space Command before this announcement, it makes sense why people would be raising shite.

Sounds like they don't remember how the BRAC game is played.

Yes. An it pisses me the frick off.

Quadruple post, just for posterity.

Me too. One of the reasons I like(d) Limestone Co is the relatively sleepy feel. I might have to say adios if this just becomes a giant suburb.

One of my coworkers hates the fact that Huntsville has to grow at all
He wants to run for mayor on the promise they we will pursue no new industry

Mentioned to work about moving to Decatur one day, said they had a position for me whenever I wanted.

shite man, I was born and raised there. I left Huntsvegas in 2005 and it was still just a sleepy little southern town with a bunch of nerds living there. Sleazy T's and Humphrey's was the epitome of entertainment.
Now it's infested with yankees and hipsters.

You’re getting downvoted for speaking the truth. Maybe not ten but it will happen.

Natural lifecycle of some cities man
It’s the Austin trajectory I’m afraid. I’m gonna enjoy it for the decade or so we continue to get cool new restaurants and bars, but the day where we are so full of hipsters we vote against all of the policies that got us here and some lunatic mayor imposes ridiculous mandates is inevitable

I know. I just never expected that shite to happen to my hometown. Even when I left in 2005 people were still bitching about Huntsville was the worst city to live in in the entire country.

No. It won't come close. The city itself will have a higher population in this decade, but it will take the metro 50 years to catch Birmingham. You're talking about adding 700k people to do that.

Less than 500k actually. And that's with a rather generous BHA metro calculation. Which Huntsville would likely expand just like BHA did as they grew.

Please, post a flashback trigger warning if you are going to speak of such places. Thanks.
