Multiple folks, including the Democratic Governor and Republican House member representing Colorado Springs, have called it a politically charged decision.

Every fricking decision like this is a political decision. Always has been. Does no one remember BRAC?

Suddenly now it's a problem.

I didn't realize that the entirety of Space Command was moving from CO to AL

I can see that leading to a lot of butthurt. Huntsville has a lot to offer the aerospace industry, so I do take some issue with the notion that we lose out based on merit based reasons.

It's not even on merit. Huntsville has an equivalent workforce, yet much, much lower cost of living. Not to mention Huntsville is the home of the Space and Missile Defense Command as well as the Missile Defense Agency.

And realistically that is what Space Force will be about....space-based or space-utilizing weapons like ICBMs and other hypersonic systems. There is not going to be Soldiers floating around in space pew-pewing like some idiots out there seem to think. On top of that, cyber is going to be a large element as well, and Huntsville is way, waaaaaaaay ahead of Colorado Springs in that department.

RDU maybe. But thats changing more and more as Huntsville keeps growing as a tech hub.

Huntsville will never catch RDU and RTP. That place is huge.

CRP isn't that far behind. RTP is indeed huge. So is CRP, and growing even faster.

Huntsville needs to put the pedal to the metal on infrastructure. We are currently the poster child for suburban sprawl and while we've done some solid things like expanding Research Park and making Cecil Ashburn a two lane road, we simply aren't going to keep up with all of the new traffic this city is going to see over the next decade at our current rate of preparation.

We also need to build a shite ton more houses (I know there is a lot of building going on and this is going to need to continue), but I must admit I'm happy to see my home equity increasing so much. The barrier to entry for the youngsters moving into HSV to buy a home cannot be too high.

If I'm a developer, I'd seriously consider mid to high rise apartment and condo buildings in and around RTP.

Don't worry, baw, they're adding another lane to 565 around the Greenbrier exit. That'll solve all the traffic issues.

Exactly. They want to get rid of it because Trump started it.

Like I said, Joe wants to also get rid of it because he's scared the Chinese will be upset

They look at it like a preserve. It has about 300 companies. When I lived in the area, IBM employed around 14,000 workers alone.

My first throughr. But thankfully I live in actual HSV and not the outskirts like Madison so it is not bad at all.

They need more lanes on the south HSV gates though.
